REPLACe your MISSING TEETH WITH IMPLANT RETAINED DENTURES

There are times when a patient needs a complete set of dentures. In that case, they want more stability or support, which can be satisfied with the help of implant-supported dentures. This option stabilizes the lower denture, which is more likely to move around. Our dentist at DNA Dental Studio recommends getting two implants that go into the lower jawbone and then using a ball that sticks up from them. If you get the implant-retained dentures at our dental office, they will be handcrafted, keeping your specific needs in mind, and have “hitches” that allow them to fit perfectly on the implants.

Though most patients do not face any trouble while wearing the upper dentures, they might find eating while wearing the lower dentures challenging. To resolve this issue, one can choose the numerous implant-supported replacement options available if someone has lost all their lower teeth.

WHAT IF I’M MISSING ALL OF MY LOWER TEETH?

BALL ATTACHMENT DENTURE

One of the options is to get two implants surgically fitted into your lower jaw and a denture that perfectly sits on these implants. These surgically done two implants provide more stability and support to the lower dentures while eating or chewing compared to those without implants. But your lower dentures can still move, leading to sore spots caused by food particles caught under them. Like all the other teeth replacement treatment options, you must visit the dental office for denture adjustments.

BAR ATTACHED DENTURE

One other option is to put 4-6 implants in your lower jaw. The number of implants required to complete the process directly depends on the shape and size of your jaw. Once the healing is complete, a custom-made bar connects the implants. The denture is made with special retention clips that attach to the support bar and, as a result, allow the dentures to fit perfectly in their place. This is also known by the term “overdenture.” The primary benefit of this option is that it offers more stability and support and very little movement of the dentures. Additionally, the denture can still be easily removed for maintenance and cleaning.

SCREW RETAINED DENTURE

The third option, i.e., screw-retained denture, can also be an effective solution if you suffer from problems related to missing all lower teeth. In this option, the dentist places five or more implants in your jaw, and a permanent denture is attached. They use Screws or clasps to keep the denture in place. The denture is then secured to the bar or support posts. You will not have to face any trouble cleaning the denture as it does not touch the gum tissue. The denture in this process replaces all your missing teeth, and the dentist removes it in your next maintenance visit. An important thing to note is that one can face more difficulty cleaning under the dentures without removing them. Patients with permanent dentures often use this method as they have no other viable option.

WHAT IF I’M MISSING ALL OF MY UPPER TEETH?

Dentures are an excellent choice for people with one or multiple missing teeth. You can not chew even or adequately speak generally due to missing teeth. It also deteriorates the facial structure of a person. The design aims to replicate the look, feel, and function similar to natural teeth.
